Nigerian rapper and singer, Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, known professionally as Zlatan Ibile celebrates 10 years in the entertainment industry since he left football.
Sharing via his Instagram page, the 29-year-old singer wrote a heartfelt message reflecting on his humble beginning over the decade. He had aspired to become a footballer before he started music.
The singer, who recently launched a store expressed his profound gratitude to the students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ogun state for helping him win a singing contest hosted by a telecommunication company, where he won his first car.
Zlatan disclosed that his musical breakthrough occurred in 2017 after a collaboration with senior colleague, YBNL boss, Olamide. He reminisces on his memories as he celebrates his ten-year journey.
He wrote,
“10 years ago, there was no Zlatan Ibile.
All there was, was an aspiring footballer.
Mapoly students believed in me by ensuring I won this contest!
From then, everything changed from football to music.
I did not have 2 personal songs let alone a hit until 2017 with Baddo.
Thank you to every Mapoly student who stood by me. Thank you Day 1 Zlatanovaz. Can’t believe today makes it exactly 10 years already… And we’re still going strong.
ZTTW!”
