Afrobeat superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he landed his first endorsement deal worth millions of naira at the age of 17.
The ‘Timeless’ hitmaker stated this during a recent interview while speaking on his career progression over the years.
According to Davido, telecommunications giant, MTN, offered him a lucrative endorsement deal worth N20 million when he was just a teenager.
He stated that N20m was a lot of money for him at the time as he had only two successful songs making the airwaves. He added that the experience opened his eyes to the immense financial possibilities within the music industry.
Following the offer, the 30-year-old singer finally developed the confidence to pitch his music career to his dad, who bought into his vision and built a studio for him.
