As the 2023 general election is fast approaching, the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has said Nigeria needs a deliverer, not a leader
He made this statement on Thursday, December 8, while preaching at the ongoing Shiloh program at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Ogun state.
Bewailing the economic and insecurity crisis in the nation, Bishop Oyedepo reminded Nigerians that in 2015, he warned them that the country was heading for crisis.
He added that Nigerian is in need of a candidate who would deliver them from their sufferings, not a mere leader.
“I think I’m prompted by the spirit we need to pray for this nation. I warned this nation in 2015 that we were heading for crisis and trauma, many were washing their mouth. They are off today.
God does not require consensus to raise a prophet. I saw a nation going down the drain, I cried. There are many prophets of politicians who speak what they want to hear.
I have been very silent. What we need now is not a leader, it is a deliverer,” he said.

A while back, Bishop Oyedepo spoke against the Buhari-led administration.
He attacked the government during a service in his church recently while reacting to the incessant killings in different states in the country, specifically the terrorist attack on a Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo state.
According to the clergymen, Nigerians have never suffered like this in our history and this current administration is proof that when the ‘wicked’ rule, the people will mourn.
