A 300l student of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Calabar campus, identified as Ford Moses, has been murdered in cold blood by suspected armed robbers.
The incident reportedly happened near the school administrative building, few metres away from the security post on Thursday night, June 3.
According to reports, Moses saw a three-man gang robbing a female student of her smart phone so he intervened.
It was gathered that the student of Visual Art Department chased after the thieves who had succeeded in stealing the phone in a bid to retrieve it.
In an unfortunate turn of events, they stabbed him multiple times with a dagger and he bled to death.
Moses died twenty minutes later while being rushed to a nearby hospital by his colleagues, Cross River Watch reports.
Two of the suspects have been nabbed by the UNICROSS security while one is on the run.
