There were reports that there is a currently widespread blackout in the country over the plummeting power generation which recently has dropped to 1, 580.6 megawatts.
The reason for the drop is said to be the after effects of pipeline vandalisation, plus the partial collapse of the Shiroro power plant.
Nigerians who have endured days of no electricity have taken to social media to protest and also call out the Power Minister Tunde Fashola for the promises he made after he resumed office.
I haven't had electricity for FOUR days, but carry on… As you were.

Who has seen @tundefashola lately? His oratory skills are beginning to diminish in direct proportionality with the electricity output.

Just occurred to me that the APC promised to generate 40,000MW of electricity by 2019.
It was in their manifesto too, the deleted manifesto.— Nubari Saatah (@Saatah) March 10, 2016

Fashola, power is now 1,580MW.

Can we still blame GEJ?
All your ranting has landed u in 1,580MW

To whom much is given much is expected. Fashola the super Minister is fast becoming the laughing stock. 1580MW Electricity under him? Chai

The way dis power situation is going, it will leave one wit no option but 2 tell Fashola 2 reserve all his statements against GEJ on power
— Success Adams (@12SAdams) March 10, 2016
Uncle Fashola, this wasn't the plan o. ?
— Fraulein B. (@Basswaht) March 10, 2016
About 18months ago Fashola said a serious govt can provide stable electricity in 6 months. What does that mean with the present govt?
