2016 has been a year of emotional turbulence in Nollywood. Actors have gotten awarded, recognized internationally, engaged, married and re-married and sadly, lives have been lost along the way. With just 3 months till 2017, over 10 Nollywood favourites have passed away, dating as early as January.
Here’s a list of seven most shocking Nollywood deaths this 2016:
1. Veteran actress, Bukky Ajayi (82).
Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Ajayi died on July 6, 2016 after an unsuccessful battle with heart-related issues. Her big break into Nollywood was her role in the Village Headmaster in the 70s.
In March 2016, the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) awarded her with the 2016 ‘Industry Merit Award’.
