Bosnia and Herzegovina striker Edin Dzeko saw red during a World Cup qualifying match after leaving an opponent red-faced when he pulled down his shorts.
The incident came in the 79th minute when Bosnia captain Dzeko was on the receiving end of a rough challenge by Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
After the 6ft 5in Dzeko was bundled to the floor by Borussia Dortmund player Papastathopoulos, the two began tussling for possession of the ball.
When Papastathopoulos prized it from the clutches of the former Manchester City frontman, Dzeko grabbed onto the Greek’s legs and then yanked down his shorts.
As an incensed Dzeko was rising to his feet, Papastathopoulos fell to the ground, provoking a mass fracas involving players from both sides in the corner of the pitch.
When order was finally restored, the referee showed the former Manchester City player a second yellow and then a red card.
Bosnia were leading the match 1-0 until the 95th minute when Greece leveled.
