Nigerian Billionaire and oil magnate, Femi Otedola has opened up on why he donated the hefty sum of 5 Billion Naira to his daughter’s Cuppy Foundation.
On November 10, 2019, at the launch of the DJ Cuppy Foundation which took place at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, Femi Otedola donated N5 billion and this with no doubt became the first single largest donation to philanthropy in Nigeria.
Now speaking to the media on why he made such a huge donation to the Cuppy Foundation, he gave his reason thus;
“A lot of people think when they die, they take their money with them, we’ll see. In my journey of life, I have taken the risk, I’ve done the chase, I’ve enjoyed the thrill and I have achieved success and recognition. What next? You give it back,” he said.
Abeg sir donate #500,000 into my life to start my own foundation business so that I can help too in my journey of life
Sir please may God use you to assist me and my parents
The 5 billion was given to his daughter. So no cause for alarm. The money still belong to the family.

he is a good man. to hell with bad commendation. It’s always good to be good. he holds a volatile money but decides to handle it in a Godly way. i personally wish him heaven at last. tje critics should design their paths also. God bless you
Please Daddy Otedola….all I need from you is between N500,000 to N1,000,000, to start up a business. Help us too please Sir.
sir i need your assistant sir
the money he give still belongs to his family, let him go and help the poor if he think, you don’t carry your money along
when you die.
this is the type great people Nigeria need. the donation is not for his daughter but his daughter foundation that help children so he is still making people life comfortable because people like this feel excited when donating or giving out their wealth to the less previlage ones.
donating 5 billion naira to his daughter foundation is not something worth acknowledging, until he donate same amount of money to orphanage home I will never recommend him.
Sir, This 5 Billion donation to his daughter not bad because the money still belongs to him. If the billionaire want to change the various lives of poor in Nigeria the money should be used to empower people to eradicate the poverty because this amount is huge amount sir May Almighty to make you heaven at the of this world .
Am overwhelmingly impressed sir with this comment.every other rich or even less rich person has forgotten that.not even the men of God remember giving back.higher respect sir and I noticed his daughters are well brought up,I know not even I am perfect but they are not your average spoilt brat.thank Sir for bringing them up well.

We failed to speak the truth, cos of a benefit we can never enjoy from him, what is my problem with that, the same money belongs to his family, so why are we still praising him? He should go out there and help the needy not any member of his family. Either u r rich or poor, one thing is sure, we’ll leave all this behind wen death closes our eyes.
