Nigrerian Singer, JJC Skillz and his Wife, Funke Akindele have reacted to the backlash they received for holding a house party amid the coronavirus lockdown.
On Sunday morning, a video made the rounds on social media showing Funke Akindele (who is an Ambassador for NCDC) and JJC Skillz celebrating with friends and celebrities alike to mark the latter’s birthday.
Nigerians frowned at the video and called the actress out, accusing her of violating the simple rules of the lockdown and social distancing.
Funke and her husband have now taken to their respective social media pages to react to the backlash.
JJC SKillz went live on Intstagram and said: “A lot of people are ranting online. It’s your data. Go ahead,”
Watch the video below;
Funke Akindele, on her part, wrote: “Thanks for the love guys!!!! We all have been together for over two weeks, we are safe and take all precautions.”
While responding to a Twitter user who tweeted at her writing, “Losing this contract by Funke Akindele in my opinion would not be seen as witch hunt but stupidity”, she wrote; “Don’t create unnecessary sensation. Omoghettothesaga was to be filmed before the lockdown and some of us had been camped in Amen Estate. So we had to stay in there. We are safe and happy! Let’s not be NEGATIVE!!”
She has since deleted her tweets after the backlash she recieved!
