Popular Nigerian poet and journalist, Wana Udobang has recounted how her father almost used her as a “sacrificial lamb”, as a child.
The media personality who shared the childhood memory on Twitter, recalled being forced by her father to taste his tea before he drank it.
According to her, she had no idea why her father wanted her to taste the tea first, but later realized he was told his tea was poisoned, and wanted to use her to confirm.
Wana later discovered relatives had told her dad, that his wife, Wana’s mother was trying to poison him, so, rather than make his wife taste the tea first, he chose to use his daughter as the “sacrificial lamb“.
Her tweet reads,
“I randomly always remember my father asking me to drink his tea under duress cos I didn’t exactly like tea as a child.
“Only to find out a few mins later that his relatives had told him my mother put poison in the tea.
“Memories are such a wonderful thing.
“I find it funny now but I think it stayed with me for a while though. But now its currently a family joke that I was going to be the lamb for sacrifice”.
