Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari has announced the release of Kankara school boys of Government Science Secondary School, kidnapped last Friday.
The Governor also disclosed that the boys were at Tsafe in Zamfara State and would be transported to Kankara on Friday to reunite with their method.
The Special Adviser to the Katsina Governor on Security, Ibrahim Katsina, also confirmed the release of the students said:
“Alhamdulillah. The boys have been rescued and are now at Tsafe, Zamfara State. But, we shall be moving them to Kankara tomorrow (Friday),” Kastina said.
Shortly after their release was reported, President Muhammadu Buhari also described the release of the schoolboys as a big relief to their families, the entire country and the international community.
He shared in an update,
I welcome the release of the kidnapped students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara. This is a huge relief to the entire country & international community. The entire country is grateful to Governor Masari, the Intelligence Agencies, the Military and the Police Force.
Our administration is fully aware of the responsibility we have to protect the lives and property of all Nigerians. I ask Nigerians to be patient and fair to us as we deal with the challenges of security, the economy, and corruption. We will not relent.
