A Texas based Nigerian family went wild in jubilation as their home regained power, after days of blackout.
The past few days have been difficult in Texas, after record of low temperature damaged infrastructure, caused blackouts and froze water pipes.
Scores of Texans were left without electricity or heat in the aftermath of the deadly winter storm.
According to operators, the bulk of the power loss in Texas came from natural gas suppliers as pipelines froze, making it difficult for plants to get the fuel they needed.
Power has now been restored in some parts, and in the viral video the Nigerian family ‘Up NEPA” immediately power was restored today.
The phrase “Up Nepa,” is commonly used amongst Nigerians to rejoice the restoration of power.
The Nigerian family who were more than happy over the restoration of power, although in diaspora, remembered their root and joyfully shouted “Up Nepa”.
