Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu has taken to social media to tackle Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, over the 3-day mourning period he declared for the lives lost in the 21-storey building that collapsed in Ikoyi, Lagos state, on Monday, Nov. 1.
Uche in a post he shared on his Instagram page chided the governor for trying to hide his negligence by declaring the 3-day mourning period.
The controversial actor questioned how the building developer who got approval for 15-storey building was able to build 21-storey without any building monitoring team noticing and calling him to order.
Uche described this as gross negligence and stated that the government is only concerned about monitoring bike riders who are struggling to make ends meet.
He wrote,
“Dear Governor Sir, stop magnifying your NEGLIGENCE with a 3 days mourning declaration, Ikoyi building collapse could have been avoided if relevant State #building tax payers funded authorities had done their jobs properly. Can someone please explain how a building in a big man area of Gerrard road, #Ikoyi got an alleged approval for 15 floors, yet comfortably erected 21 floors for this 21st century and no #single Lagos building monitoring team checking to making sure they followed building permit regulations and standard for years? But if Na to pursue innocent #Okada riders trying to put #food on the table of dem families now, you go turn monitoring spirit #instagram #ikoyibuilding #lagos”
