Popular Nigerian filmmaker, Jade Osiberu has disclosed what the police told her after she reported a case to them.
Jade who revealed this on Twitter on Tuesday, May 10, said she was scammed by an Instagram vendor to the tune of N50,000 and contacted a police to report the incident.
Shockingly, the police officer reportedly advised her to let it slide because she would spend more money to investigate and bring the culprit to justice.
The 36-year-old producer tweeted,
“Got scammed by a fake IG grocery vendor (50k ff), never happened to me b4. Called a police contact telling him I have the guy’s account details so it should be an easy arrest. He said, just let it go. It’ll cost more to “help/empower” the investigation. Naija is a shit hole.”
When asked for the item she ordered from the online vendor, Jade stated that it was some food items for herself and her folks.
“It was how they got me oo. The biggest snails I had ever seec. lol. And then I started adding more stuff that I decided to send to my parents. By the time I was done shopping, I had sent 51k to this thief that has now deleted their page.” she wrote.
