Mixed reactions have trailed a recent message to couples by popular clergywoman, Nike Adeyemi, that their spouses are not their source but God is.
Nike, the wife of the senior pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi, shared the message that has now sparked a debate online with couples via her Twitter handle on Thursday, August 4.
According to her, couples should learn to trust God as their source and not their partners.
“Your spouse is not your source, God is!” She tweeted.
The message, however, received a range of responses from users on Twitter. While others agreed with Nike’s viewpoint, a number of others argued that it’s a man’s God-given responsibility to be his wife’s protector, provider, and source.

Meanwhile, former Ultimate love housemate, Tony Ebiteinye Juliet, has taken to social media to advise people to place character over spirituality when choosing a partner.
Ebi in a series of posts shared on her Instastory, told single folks to choose a partner that is kind to them even when angry and would never intentionally hurt them.
According to her, it’s normal for couples to fight but a good partner would never haul insults and curses at their significant other out of anger.
