Abba Bichi, the son of the Director General of the Department of State Security Service (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi, has berated singer, Teni, for not bowing to President Buhari while receiving a national award.
The 29-year-old singer was on Tuesday, October 11, conferred as a Member of the Order of the Niger (MON), at a ceremony which was held at the Government House Villa in Aso Rock.
During the award ceremony, Teni, when called up, received her award from the president without bowing or shaking his hands, and then returned to her seat afterwards.

Teni’s conduct sparked controversy online as many Nigerians accused her of being disrespectful to the presidency.
One of those who chided Teni for her conduct at the award ceremony was the DSS DG’s son, Abba Bichi. He shared a photo of Teni on his Instagram page and lambasted her for not bowing to the president.
Insisting that Teni was disrespectful to Buhari, he noted that the Director General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and other high-ranking government officials bowed their heads as a sign of respect to the president at the event.
“Orobo with zero sense, even her excellency okonjo bowed down her head as a sign of respect to the president and commander in chief of the armed forces, likewise other high-ranking government officials. Who are you not to respect the president? This is disgusting and disturbing. Yoruba people are best known for their respect for elders but it got to your turn and you decided to be arrogant”.
