A Nigerian woman who claims her son was killed in the shooting at the Lekki tollgate during the #EndSARS protest in October 20, 2020, has spoken up.
The woman, from Akwa Ibom state, came out to speak at the End SARS memorial processon today, October 20, when multitudes of Nigerian youths converged at the Lekki Toll Gate to remember the peaceful protesters who were shot two years ago.
Speaking in an interview with Arise News, the woman who spoke in her native dialect with the help of an interpreter, said she saw a picture of her son’s lifeless body but is yet to recover his corpse till date.
When the interviewer asked if she is sure that her son was killed, and not arrested because there are reports that some protesters are still in jail till date, the woman maintained that her son was killed because he was shot in the neck in the picture she saw, and some eyewitness also confirmed his death.

Just recently, Nigerian rapper and activist, Falz who also joined the memorial procession this morning revealed that security personnel fired teargas to disperse the crowd.
He shared a video of people scampering for safety and wrote, “Their usual show of madness, they tear-gassed, but we are safe, thanks to everyone checking in.” Read here
