A Ghanaian feminist, Dinah Antwiaa Twumasi, has questioned why prominent and influential women have to take their husband’s surname after marriage.
Dinah took to Twitter to pose this question after popular actress, Rita Dominic, edited her Instagram bio to include her husband’s surname, Anosike, few hours after their wedding.
Recall that Rita Dominic and her husband, Daily Times publisher Fidelis Anosike, held their white wedding in England over the weekend.
Shortly after the occasion, online investigators observed that Rita Dominic has added her husband’s surname to her Instagram bio.

Reacting to this, Dinah, who describes herself as a feminist, asked why women always have to be the ones to let go of some aspects of their personal life after marriage.
In a now-deleted tweet, she wrote, ”Just hours after her white wedding, a household name, a global brand Rita Dominic is now called Mrs. Fidelis Anosike! Why, why must women always have to be the ones letting go after marriage?”

In other news, Nigerian Media personality, Shade Ladipo took to her IG stories on Saturday night to tell women that getting married in their 30s is not an achievement.
The media entrepreneur revealed this while celebrating the wedding of actress, Rita Dominic, which held in England on Saturday, November 26.
According to Shade, love is not a linear journey and women should endeavor to choose their path and embrace it with their “full chest”.
