Nigerian singer, Burna Boy has mourned the unfortunate demise of his South African colleague, Kiernan Forbes, better known as AKA.
This comes almost a week after the 35-year-old rapper was shot dead by a yet-to-be identified gunman outside a restaurant in Durban, South Africa.
Taking to his Instastory, Burna Boy, who collaborated with AKA on a song titled “All eyes on Me” in 2014, penned an emotional tribute to him.
He recalled how he advised AKA to get a gun for self defense, after he (AKA) reprimanded him for having a gun on him.
He said eventhough he was not on good terms with AKA when he was alive, he didn’t want him to die, and he hopes his murderer is caught and prosecuted.
The 31-year-old singer wrote,
“WTF is all of that about/
I just heard he died, seen that video at that restaurant/
Took me out of a positive mood/
Took me back to that day when you saw my gun and you said I was wild/
Then I told you you should have one too/ Cuz it weren’t like niggaz wasn’t dying but I thought you knew/
And I ain’t really fuck wit you/
But I didn’t want you dead, it was like that with me and you/
Wicked!/
I hope they catch whoever did you wicked/ I hope you rest in peace. Even though we ain’t kick it/ At the end of the day we some grown ass niggaz”.
“RIP AKA”.
