A Nigerian man identified as Dumebi has narrated how a Nigerian human resources personnel prevented their white boss from promoting a fellow Nigerian.
Taking to the microblogging platform, Twitter, Dumebi shared how the HR personnel gave the excuse that Nigerians do not earn that much at their young age.
He wrote;
“A friend was denied a promotion and salary raise recommended by her white manager because according to the Nigerian HR “Nigerians of that age shouldn’t earn that much”
This happened in an Oil Company”
In other news, a young Nigerian man paid tribute to his late mother as he signs out from the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State.
Blessed, who noted that his mother’s lifelong dream was for him to graduate from a tertiary institution, paid a special tribute to her after his final examination.
While bagging a degree is a significant accomplishment, what made the day even more special was the tribute he paid to his mother, who passed away a few years ago.
He revealed that his mother was his biggest supporter throughout his academic journey. She encouraged him to pursue his dreams and provided him with the emotional and financial support he needed to succeed. However, she was unable to see her son graduate due to her untimely passing.
To honor his mother’s memory, Blessed wore a white shirt with his mother’s photo on his sign-out day.
