A Nigerian soldier has taken to social media to appeal to Nigerien soldiers to be “nice” to them, ahead of their proposed intervention.
The yet-to-be-identified soldier shared a video on TikTok, which captured their preparation for a possible invasion of the neighboring nation.
In the video, the soldier, who was dressed in his military uniform and held an assault rifle, was captured talking to his colleagues beside a military vehicle in an undisclosed location.
He then appealed for a favourable reception from his Nigerien counterparts. He also asked his mother to pray for their safety in the event of a possible operation.
The video was shared days before the deadline ECOWAS gave the military junta in Niger Republic to reinstate the ousted President, Mohamed Bazoum, by Sunday, August 6.
He captioned it, “Niger pls be nice to us!!! Few days to go, Mummy pray for us, if it happened that we did not make it pls take care of our unborn kids”.
