The Delta State Police Command has arrested more than 100 suspected homosexuals accused of being involved in a gay wedding in the state.
The spokesperson of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, paraded the suspects at the police headquarters in Asaba on Tuesday morning, August 28.
According to him, the suspects were allegedly holding a gay wedding at a hotel in the state, when they were apprehended.
“Delta State Command has arrested over a hundred gay suspects in a hotel carrying out a gay wedding ceremony. We will be going live shortly on Facebook to parade the said suspects,” the statement read.
A video of the men being paraded before newsmen is currently making rounds on the internet.
The incident has sparked a flurry of comments on social media, with many criticizing the men for holding a gay wedding, despite knowing homosexuality is a crime in Nigeria.
