Popular Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode, also known as ‘Toyo Baby,’ has recounted her battle with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
PCOS is a common condition that affects a woman’s hormone levels, causing irregular menstrual periods, excess hair growth, acne, and infertility, according to Cleveland Clinic.
Juliana shared her struggles in a recent video she posted on her YouTube channel. According to her, she bled continuously for four months during her battle with the ailment.
She also disclosed that she had Psoriasis, which is a chronic condition that causes symptoms such as scaly, dry, or itchy skin.
However, she stated that when she had had enough of the health complications, she decided to stop medications and take control of her health by combining her faith, prayer, and lifestyle changes. Fortunately, both ailments stopped.
Sharing a snippet of the video, she wrote,
“I bled for four months non stop.
I’m sharing this because I know there are a lot of women battling with hormonal imbalance /PCOS.
You probably feel tired, weird, and ashamed. You probably have spent so much money on medication and you haven’t seen any changes.
I was dealing with hormonal imbalance/ PCOS and Psoriasis at the same time.
I woke up one day and I said “Enough is enough” I was tired of swallowing drugs and putting all sort of ointment on my skin. I prayed and exercised my faith and everything changed.
When I got my healing I also have to change my lifestyle/ the things I eat. Majority of the health issues we have is because of the things that we consume. And to stay healthy you must eat right”
