Former Nigerian footballer, Emmanuel Emenike, has responded to the demolition of houses built on waterways in the Ikota Area of Lagos state.
Videos of the mansions being demolished were shared online over the weekend, and residents were seen weeping over the loss of their homes.
However, the state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, who spoke to the residents, firmly stated that they were given ample time to vacate the buildings, but they refused.

In response to the incident, Emenike took to his Instagram page to express concern that Igbo people are in “trouble” in Lagos and urged them to relocate their investments to the South East.
He wrote,
“The sadness is too much after getting approval from the same Lagos State Government. This is pure wickedness.
“Igbos are in trouble.
“Bring your investment back home my people. We have Abia State, Imo State, Anambra State, Enugu State and Ebonyi State.”
