The Gombe State Police Command has apprehended a 55-year-old man, Bappah Bolari, for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl in the Kwami Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect was paraded on Thursday, October 26, 2023, following a formal complaint lodged by Sadiya Wada from Malam Sidi village.

According to ASP Mahid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the police command, Bolari forcefully engaged in sexual intercourse with the minor without her consent.

The incident took place behind a maternity building in Malam Sidi.

The case is currently under investigation, and upon its completion, Bolari will be charged to court.

In a similar occurrence, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) also presented Donal Joseph, an 18-year-old resident of Wili Village in Kaltungo Local Government Area.

Joseph stands accused of defiling the daughter of Danjuma Jauro. Allegedly, he lured the victim to an uncompleted building after escorting her to his house.

There, he undressed the young girl and had sexual intercourse with her.

Both the victim and the suspect were taken to the hospital for medical examinations.

The police are diligently pursuing the investigation to gather evidence and ensure that justice is served in these distressing cases of child abuse.

The community eagerly awaits the legal proceedings and hopes for a swift judgement to bring the perpetrators to justice.
