A 400-level student of the University of Calabar, Celsus Eti-Emanaobong Bernard, has reportedly been kidnapped by unknown assailants on the school premises.
Celsus, a Tourism Studies student, was abducted on Tuesday, November 28. While details of the incident remain sketchy, it was gathered that the bolt driver transporting her to her destination has been brutally killed by the abductors.
The brother of the abducted student has taken to Twitter (now X) to raise the alarm, stating that the kidnappers are demanding a ransom of N3 million. They have threatened to kill her if the ransom is not paid before the end of Monday, December 4.
The young man, identified as @eyoUTD419 on Twitter, is also soliciting donations from well-meaning Nigerians to meet the ransom demand and secure his sister’s release.
He shared photos of his sister and a photo of the Bolt driver’s corpse, with the caption:
