A lady identified as @360kiddiesitems shared on TikTok the content of the pepper soup she bought in Ibadan, revealing she found locust beans locally known as Iru in the soup.

In the viral video, the lady explained that after consuming a spoonful of the pepper soup, she noticed something was different about the taste, hence, she poured it into a bowl. She expressed shock when she saw locust beans swimming in the chicken pepper soup.

She queried why the food spot added locust beans in the soup, stating that Ibadan people have normalize adding locust beans inside every meal they prepare.

The young lady noted that she is an indigene of Ijebu Igbo and eats locust beans often but seeing it in pepper soup at Ibadan was a shock to her.

Viewers online have testified to the lady’s claim as they shared their experience about Ibadan’s food when they visited the place. Majority emphasized that Ibadan people sometimes add crayfish and locust beans as a whole in their pepper soup and barbecue.
