The Nigerian Police has taken swift action, identifying and detaining the officer involved in the incident captured in Subomi Okoya’s video, with disciplinary measures to follow.

Recall that the viral video of the Okoya’s sons, Subomi and Wahab abusing the Naira notes while the police officer held onto bundles of Naira notes stirred controversy online.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi shared on Twitter (X) that the police officer in the video has been detained since his activity was deemed unethical and condemned by the Nigerian Police Force.

Social media users are furious about the police report and wonder why the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) hasn’t punished the Okoya children for abusing Naira.

Tweeps have poured into the comment area, saying that while the wealthy get away with certain crimes, the average Nigerian citizen has no human rights.

See reactions below,

@Irunnia_ The sons of Chief Okoya abused money and they were not punished. It was the policeman standing on his own that was punished. Omo Davido was right. In this life, have money or you go suffer
@Ugochukwu_96 What now happens to the main person praying the money? Or are they above the law?
@GidiGambino The cowardice you people display when rich people commit offenses, is enough to make the average Nigerian do anything to make money.
@effedeborah See as dem leave who commit crime face policeman 🤦‍♀️
