Popular Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing, has drawn criticism online for the souvenir she handed to guests at her mother’s one-year remembrance ceremony.
The controversial thespian held a grand remembrance party for her late mother on Sunday, September 25, which was well attended by her colleagues, friends, and family members.
A highlight of the event was the moment Nkechi Blessing handed adult toys to single ladies who graced the occasion.
Before handing out the gifts, the actress gave a short speech explaining that she isn’t trying to say men are scum, but sometimes the ladies may need to help themselves.
Her words,
“I am not trying to say men are scum cos I have a man but you sometimes need to help yourself for when you don’t have a man, this is my souvenir for the single ladies here, to help yourself”.
The gesture has since elicited a barrage of reactions from social media users, many of whom accused the actress of disrespecting her late mother.
Reacting, popular social media commentator, Daniel Regha wrote,
“Nkechi Blessing doesn’t cherish her mom’s memory otherwise she won’t be sharing d!ldos at her mother’s remembrance; What a shamefu! act. Anything for clout. It’s unfortunate that someone like this, is being regarded as a role model. She’s needs he!p, something is wrong with her.”
A Twitter user @Pelumi_Mohdope wrote,
“Nkechi blessing shares dildo as souvenir at her mom’s 1year remembrance,chase your clout but fucking respect your mom and to think kids are present at the party”.
