American actress, Whoopi Goldberg has opened up about her sexuality following observations that she gives off ‘lesbian vibes’.
During a recent episode of The Best Podcast Ever, where she was joined by Raven-Symoné and her spouse, Miranda, the 67-year-old actress talked about the speculations on her sexual orientation.
The popular ‘Sister Act’ star revealed that she is not a lesbian but she has willingly played lesbian roles in movies.
Whoopi said, “Women have been asking me this for as long as I’ve been around, I am not a lesbian. But I know lots of them, and I’ve played them on television.”
In response, Miranda commented, “I think this is a secret fantasy of Raven’s! I think she just wants everybody to be gay and she’s just really hoping you’ll come out right here right now.”‘
“It is!” Raven admitted, and then said: “So if you want to tell us anything, Whoops, you’re more than welcome to!”
The mother-of-one continued: “But I have always had lesbian friends but they’re just my friends.”
She also recalled a conversation with one of her lesbian friends where she set clear boundaries about what she would allow.
“I’m not gonna kiss you, but I’ll kiss you over here, I’ll do this but I’m not going to do this… And they’re like, “OK!”” she explained.
Meanwhile, Whoopi is currently single, and just this month, she admitted that she regrets getting married, despite having been married and divorced three times.
