Nollywood actor, Gideon Okeke has told his fellow male colleagues that they are not on the same level with their female counterparts.
Taking to his Instagram page, the actor spoke of the disequilibrium in the Nigerian movie industry and asserted that actors are second class citizens in the industry.
He wrote,
“Dear Nollywood actor,
Father of 1,2,3…..
Or even the single guys sef
You see that actress?
The yellow one? Even the black one sef
She is not your mate in the scheme of things
You are a second class citizen at the table of equity”
This follows a post he shared online where he claimed actors are being paid ‘peanuts’, but are expected to dress like ‘a bag of money’ during movie premieres.
He had captioned the post,
“WAIT !
Awards season is coming again.
You will see all of us looking like PEACOCKS 🦚 on the red carpet.
Like a BAG OF MONEY.
Don’t ENVY ANYONE O.
Na Packaging. Na wash.
Now dem don even Dey give money for
BEST DRESSED.
Taking the light away from the film wey

You IGN’ANT (Ignorant)
like the Americans would say.
