Popular Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor, professionally known as Rema, abruptly walked off the stage during a recent performance in Atlanta.
The “Calm Down” star suddenly ended the show he was supposed to headline in the United States due to the terrible state of the venue.
Addressing his fans before walking off the stage, the singer apologized to them and assured them that the show would be rescheduled.
He also strongly criticized the show’s organizers, pointing out that their choice of venue not only disrespected him but also showed a lack of respect for the Afrobeats genre.
“Afrobeat is way too big to look like this. I don’t want to accept rubbish; I respect my fans. We are not doing this. I am going to have to reschedule this show. They have disrespected me and disrespected afrobeat by treating you guys like this. I love you,” he said.
