The Secretary of State of the United States of America, Antony Blinken has confirmed the nation’s steadfast dedication to supporting Nigeria as it bans some people for compromising the 2023 elections.
This declaration was made about a year after the US administration had pledged to impose visa restrictions on anybody who incited violence during the 2023 general election in Nigeria.
Blinken also disclosed that the US government had placed limits on some people who caused damage to the 2023 presidential election in a tweet posted on his official Twitter account on May 15, 2023.
He tweeted’
“We have imposed visa restrictions on specific individuals who undermined the democratic process during Nigeria’s 2023 elections. We remain committed to supporting Nigerian aspirations to strengthen democracy and rule of law.”
