South African singer, Babes Wodumo who has been in the news after a video of her boyfriend, DJ Mampintsha assaulting her was shared on social media, has finally broken her silence on the trending ordeal.
Her management released a statement saying,

In a new development, the singer has also pressed assault charges against her abusive boyfriend.
It’s being reported that Babes reported the case at a Police station on Monday, moments before releasing the statement above.
It’s also confirmed that she was at the Westville Police Station in Durban. Her family’s spokesman, Sakhile Mhlonishwa confirmed an assault case was opened.

One of her friends also revealed that her official statement about the whole issue was to reduce the anxiety of her friends and assure them she’s well.
Her management however, plan to hold a press conference on Tuesday.
