Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu, has slammed his colleague, Yul Edochie, for disrespecting the Naira at a church thanksgiving service.
Edochie, who has indicated interest in contesting for the President of Nigeria someday, had attended the end-of-year thanksgiving of popular clergyman, Prophet Odumeje, on Sunday, December 12.
At the service, church members and guests sprayed money with reckless abandon. It seemed like a ‘money rain’ because the floor was littered with money.
During the course of the service, the man of God invited Yul Edochie to the altar and they danced and stepped on the naira notes.
Reacting to this, Uche Maduagwu took to his Instagram page to criticize Yul for disrespecting the naira despite his intentions to become Nigeria’s president.
According to him, Yul’s action was shameful and disgraceful, adding that his father, Pete Edochie, must have wept after watching the video.
He wrote,
“First it was Obi kunu, now our ‘I want to become President for 2023 ambassador’, this is preposterously disgraceful to say the least, I just hope this video of our dear nollywood colleague triumphantly stepping on Naira notes in a CHURCH of all places is not REAL? What a boastful mockery of the house of God, is the church now a PARTY arena? Sir Pete go dey weep after seeing this, Na my pikin wey we dey look up to become President be this?”
