The daughter of media moguls Soni and Betty Irabor, Sonia Irabor, has been appointed as the Editor of Genevieve Magazine.
Sonia’s mother, Betty Irabor, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the beauty and lifestyle magazine revealed this on micro-blogging website, Twitter on Thursday.
She wrote:
Today my daughter Sonia who joined Genevieve at 13 as teen zone columnist is now Editor of Genevieve. A mother’s prayer answered.
She followed up with a congratulatory message on Friday.
She wrote:
Congratulation Sonia as you become the Editor of Genevieve magazine… God bless you mightily.
Sonia started writing for the magazine as a 13-year-old with the column, Teen Zone.
She served as assistant editor and UK correspondent of the magazine before her elevation to the post of editor.
In an interview with YNaija earlier in the year, she spoke of her plan for Genevieve Magazine.
She said:
“The journey is far from over and there is still a great deal of unchartered territory for us. We want to keep redefining the magazine and keep giving our readers – old and new – something fresh and exciting to look forward to, to be inspired by and to fall in love with.”
