President Muhammadu Buhari hosted President-elect, Bola Tinubu and Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima at his rural residence in Daura, Katsina State on Wednesday evening.
The duo accompanied by members of the Nationalist Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the party’s national chairman, were in Daura to give President Buhari their certificates of return.
According to a statement issued by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, following the party’s success in the presidential election last Saturday, Buhari’s visitors were paying him a “thank you call” to express their appreciation.
The certificates were presented to them by Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Head of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja.
In related news, the Presidential Flagbearer of Labour Party, Peter Obi, has declared that his party won the election and he will explore all legal and peaceful means to prove it.
Obi stated this during his first media briefing since the conclusion of the presidential election held on Saturday, February 25.
According to him, he was robbed of his mandate which he can only retrieve in a court of law. He further encouraged Nigerians to come out en masse to vote in the gubernatorial election on Saturday, March 11.

“We’ll explore all legal options to retrieve our mandate. We won the election. I’m fully committed to a better future for the country and nothing can stop that.
“For the election on Saturday go out there and vote. I’ll be part of it, I assure you.”
