Head of states, President Muhammadu Buhari’s chief of staff, Abba Kyari has reportedly died of the novel Coronavirus.
This was made known via a tweet shared by Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
The tweet reads,
The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.
The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
May God accept his soul.
Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.
Also, Bashir Ahmad, Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, and Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, confirmed the passing of the former Chief of Staff.
Ahmad tweeted,
“Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, has died. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him the highest rank of Jannah. Allah ya jikan sa”.
Completely out of any word, so devastating. It is indeed very hard on us, but I strongly believe that we all belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. May Allah accept Mallam Abba Kyari’s shahada, forgive all his shortcomings, and grant him Jannatul Firdausi.
While Adesina wrote,
“Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, passes on. May God rest his soul. Amen. Funeral arrangements to be announced soon”.
It should be recalled that the President’s aide tested positive to the virus after his trip to Germany and was hospitalized for more than three weeks without showing any form of recovery.
