A 13-year old boy identified as Quadri Olalekan has reportedly been killed by his boss for money rituals in Oyo state.
The suspect, one 21 year-old briklayer, Biodun Owolabi, has been arrested alongside his accomplices: Festus Simon (20) and an alfa over the murder of the school student in Ibadan, Oyo state.
According to reports, on October 31, the suspect informed the deceased about a bricklaying job at Iyana Church, Iwo church, in order to lure him out for their sinister intention.
Quadri, who had been an apprentice under Owolabi due to the closure of schools, availed himself for the job.
After several hours, he didn’t return home which raised suspicion in his mother, who raised an alarm about the whereabout of her son.
On interrogation, Owolabi initially denied but later confessed to killing the missing child, The Cable reports
“When it was discovered that the boy was missing, Owolabi was approached but he said he did not know where the boy was. When members of the community intervened, he said the boy had been killed and buried. He said he and the Alfa killed the boy and took parts of his body for ritual purposes. According to him, a popular baker and another individual in the area paid them to bring the body parts,” a source told the publication.
Owolabi then took residents of the community to the location where they buried the 13-year-old. His remains was stuffed in a sack and buried in a shallow grave.
The sack was reportedly dripping with blood when it was exhumed. It was more disturbing that parts of the teenagers body were missing. His arms, eyes, penis and part of his buttocks were removed.
A relative of the deceased’s mother who simply identified herself as Bisi said Quadri Olalekan was to mark his 14th birthday a day after he was killed and his mother had already bought clothes for the occasion.
