The Presidency has reacted to the sudden re-emergence of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu saying, ‘Nigeria under President Buhari is strong enough to defend its territory against any threat’.
The presidency also assured all Nigerians that there is no reason to worry about the hollow outburst by Nnamdi Kanu, the disputed leader of IPOB on returning to the country “with hell’’.
The statement went further to state:
Instead, we see the re-enactment of his bizarre, episodic threat as a mere distraction which will not be allowed to detract from the existing cordial relations between Nigeria and other countries.
The Buhari administration is in constant touch with other friendly nations and has the best assurances that they would continue to reciprocate the respect Nigeria has for the sovereignty of their nations.
Nigerians have nothing to fear from this.
Yesterday, The Director of Strategy and Documentation of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Olisa Mbakwe announced that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu has been sacked from the group.
Mbakwe said Kanu was fired for placing more value on his dog than those murdered in the struggle for the realisation of Biafra.
Kanu had said during the broadcast
“The Army of the zoo killed my dog Jack and a few other people in my compound. I am sorry for what my sureties are passing through, but I want to assure them that they will have a special place in Biafra. I shall not be honouring the court.”
Reacting, Mbakwe described Kanu as an “insensitive and callous leader that has no value for his own followers but rather his dog, Jack whom he paid tributes to after his long disappearance from the struggle”.
