Different reactions have trailed a clip that captured a 200-level student of the University of Lagos assaulting his lecturer in class.
The video which was shared on X (Twitter) captured the young man who was asked to leave the class drawing a blow to attack the lecturer.
Though the reason why the student was asked to leave the class is unknown, the lecturer could be seen dragging him out by the collar of his shirt.
The student who felt like he was been embarrassed by the lecturer in front of his peers, was quick to draw a blow in an attempt to defend himself.
However internet users shared that both individuals were at fault because the lecturer started by provoking the student, then the student on the other hand retaliated.
Below are some of the reactions,
@IamDONAVE: Cmon na!!!! Lecturer was very unprofessional!!!! You don’t shove ya students like this! You deserved what you got!
@Oserume1: Why is nobody talking about the fact that the lecturer touched the student first? That’s clearly physical harassment from the lecturer, he got what he deserves. But in Nigeria, “might is right”, the student will be punished for reacting to the lecturer’s physical abuse!
@Mrlekan213: At times if you look at the behavior of some lecturers they really deserve it They talk anyhow and feel students can’t do anything
@FavoriteNorah: But why was the lecturer pushing him? I mean he was already walking out on his own
