Not less than eight people lost their lives in a ghastly car accident in Imo state on Friday, May 27.
Two cars, a Hilux and a mini commercial bus, crashed at Akabo market, along the Owerri-Okigwe Road in Imo state, according to reports.
The passengers and drivers of the two cars are said to have died on the spot.
In other news, tragedy struck as a 300 level student of Bauchi State University, Gadau, one Hauwa Abdullahi Shehu, lost her life in a fatal motor accident about a month to her wedding.
Hauwa, who was a student of the Department of Human Physiology, Faculty of Basic medical sciences, was killed in the fatal crash which occurred on her way back to school in Gadau.
The deceased who has been described by her friends and course mates as kind, gentle and generous, was set to get married to ASP Abdulmuhyi Bagel.
Bauchi State Commissioner of Power, Science and Technology, Hon. Maryam Garba Bagel, who confirmed the sad news, revealed the groom is her younger brother.
“This afternoon, we received the shocking demise of our beautiful sister-in-law to be ‘Ummi’. Ummi, a fiancee to my brother ASP Abdulmuhyi Bagel, was scheduled to wed on 5th February but Allah did not will so. May Allah forgive her gentle soul and grant her Jannah. Ameen” she wrote.</strong
