The two security guards who were allegedly fired for dancing on duty, have reacted to the statement issued by their former employer, Chicken Republic, about the incident.
It can be recalled that the guards, now known as ‘Happy Boys’, became internet sensations after their dancing video went viral, and received favours from people following claims that they were sacked over the viral video.
However, Chicken Republic reacting to the controversy in an official statement released recently, claimed the boys were not sacked but sent for retraining by the security company.
Read below,
The boys have now countered all the claims in a video shared on their official Instagram page today, March 10. According to them, they were sacked and not sent for any retraining.
They further appealed to the food outlet not to tarnish their image with their alleged false information.
They wrote,
“Good morning Nigerians, we are here to address a publication by @chickenrepublic that went viral few days ago,
Against what they published, we wantu make it know that
*We were fired!
*Nobody is in close communication with us
*We were not offered any retaining
*We only received our salaries days after the video went viral and the company received a lot of backslashing online.
We respect every business and cooperate body involved in this but please we dont want the wrong information circulating.
Thank you.
