A Nigerian pastor, Evang. Gospel Agochukwu has asked practicing Christians to increase the percentage they give in Church as tithes.
Evang. Gospel, who is the founder of Shekinah Arena Gospel Ministries, Port Harcourt, stated this via a recent post on his Facebook page where he claimed that he gives 70% of his income as tithe.
His post on his page reads,
ECONOMY IS BAD, EVERYTHING HAS GONE UP. STOP GIVING GOD 10%
Can u show us in the new testament where the Bible said we should give tithe,or were Jesus requested for tithe? Jesus only said give library and with a good heart,Stop depending on church money,Go out and get another thing to u,that is the only way u can serve God genuinely.my brother ask urself if Ur doing a godly service or human service, because in Godly service there is no earthly reward.
Pastor, the bible says the love of money is the root of all evil, I pray God to give us the grace to know them by their fruits.
