A female student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, who falsely accused the owner of a popular restaurant in the school of using mortuary water to cook, has retracted her statement and tendered her unreserved apology to the restaurant owner.

The Female student identified as Mide took to Twitter days ago to allege that the restaurant uses water from bathing dead bodies to prepare food served at the restaurant.

According to Mide, the woman does this to boost her sales and consequently taking the glories of customers who eat from the food.

Mide’s claim threw social media in a frenzy and created panic amongst students of the school who have at one time or the other patronized the restaurant.

In a new development, Mide has now taken to Twitter to retract her statement and tendered her unreserved apology to the woman.

In a video shared online the elderly woman burst into tears while Mide and some members of her family apologized to her at the palace of Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye.

Retracting her statement, Mide tweeted,

“Today, 31st March 2021, I tendered my Unreserved Apology to LAT for The Misinformation that Occurred day before Yesterday, I understand that I have done a lot of Harm and Damage to her Personality and Business, but I am really Sorry and I Hope she will Forgive me.

It was disheartening watching LAT going through a hard time because of an unverified information. Once again I apologize and retract my statement”.
