Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, was in Imo state yesterday, and a statue of her was unveiled in the state. Not only that, the Governor, Okorocha named a road after her, and also crowned her with a chieftaincy title.
Now, Sirleaf has reacted to the honor and love she got in Imo state, she says she hopes her statue which was built by the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, will serve as an inspiration to young girls and women in Nigeria and Africa that they can reach their potential.
The Harvard graduate who is the first female president in Africa while acknowledging the statue after its unveiling, said;
“I hope that this statue and the other honors I received today, would serve as a great aspiration to the young girls, to the women, to know that we can reach our potentials. We can achieve our dreams. We can stand tall among the many women of the world in providing the kind of exemplary leadership that will lift us up to stand, as I stand to represent women”.
