CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk has disclosed that he doesn’t have a home and stays with his friends despite holding the title of the World’s Richest man.
According to the businessman who is estimated to be worth a whooping £200billion and more, he doesn’t spend his wealth on material things and only bought a plane so he would have more time to work.
Musk disclosed this in a recent interview with TED which aired on Monday, April 18.
He revealed that he is currently homeless and doesn’t own a single property in his base in Texas or near Tesla’s San Francisco headquarters.
According to him, whenever he travels for work, he stays in the house of any of his friends in the area.
The 50-year-old said,
“I don’t even own a place right now, I’m literally staying at friends’ places. If I travel to the Bay Area, which is where most of Tesla’s engineering is, I basically rotate through friends’ spare bedrooms.”
He also revealed that he doesn’t live a luxury lifestyle like most billionaires do.
His words, “I don’t have yacht, I don’t take vacations, so its not that my personal consumption is high. One exception is a plane but if I don’t use the plane I have less hours to work.”
