As Nigerians around the world mark the second anniversary of the EndSARS Lekki Tollgate shooting of October 20, 2020, popular Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo has called on the government to rename the toll gate as “Lekki Memorial Way” in memory of those who lost their lives.
Alex took to his Instagram page to make this call and demanded that the Lekki Tollgate should be toll free, because Nigerians already paid the price in full with their blood during the tragic incident.
He shared a picture he took with his colleagues, IK Ogbonna and Yomi Casual, while participating in the #ENDSARS protest two years ago and wrote,
“Dear Nigerian Government, we will NEVER forget this day.
20 – 10 – 20 💔
We will return the favour. 🤞🏾
The Labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain. ✊🏾
I still maintain, Lekki Toll plaza should be renamed Lekki Memorial Way & remain toll free forever.
We paid in full with our blood. 🩸

A while back, Alex Ekubo called for an end to the recent trend of executing jungle justice on suspected criminals.
Alex took to his Instagram page to make this appeal on Wednesday, May 13, while reacting to the murder of Deborah Samuel and Dave Sound.
Deborah, a 200l student of a College of Education in Sokoto state, was lynched to death and burnt by her fellow students over alleged blasphemy.
Dave, a Sound Engineer and father of two, on the other hand, was beaten and set ablaze by some commercial motorcyclists in Lagos over N100.
