Female protester, who showed bravery despite being disabled by participating in the ENDSARS protest in Abuja has finally gotten a new prosthetic leg.
Recall that the lady identified as Jane Obiene, warmed the heart of many after a photo of her in clutches standing in solidarity with other protesters served rounds on social media.
In a bid to ease life for Jane, Nigerians raised over three million naira in less than four hours. In new reports by Twitter Influencer, Aproko Doctor, the money has been duly utilized to purchase the prosthetic leg.
According to him, the sum of N1 million will be given to Jane to finance her business while the remaining fund will be used to get an accommodation for her.
The influencer shared a video of the beautiful protester practicing how to walk on her new leg, and wrote,
“You guys remember Jane? We raised money over a month ago for a new leg
Today she’s training on using it. She’ll also be receiving 1 million naira to help her start her business while Charles will use the rest to get accommodation
Thank you Nigeria.
Thank you @donate_ng”
Jane has also taken to the micro-blogging platform to express her joy. See her post below,
Wow! I don’t know where to start from, I’m not the type for big speeches. I’m overwhelmingly ecstatic, this is a moment I will never forget. I can say Christmas came early for me 🎉🎁 https://t.co/VmFyOKh3c1
