Popular Nigerian rapper and songwriter, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun a.k.a Vector, has taken to social media to demand an appropriate investigation on the explosion that happened in Ibadan, Oyo state on 16th January 2024.
Recall a massive explosion that occurred in the night at Ibadan and reportedly affected more than twenty houses with several casualties. The explosion resulted in death and injury to residents in the vicinity and also affected properties.
According to the report, the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde explained the explosion was caused by the activities of illegal miners, he confirmed the death of two persons with 77 others injured.
No Nigerian should have continue to live under such pressure and if nobody is coming to save anyone, we will have to save ourselves but until then my ❤️ to ibadan and everyone dealing with this tragic moment
Sharing on his Instagram page, the rapper insists he stands against anything that intends to make it a norm, such an incident is not accepted as a norm and nowhere should be under pressure, an appropriate investigation should be done. Vector revealed some of his friends live around the axis, the blast occurred, and have gone to the hospital for stitches.
He wrote;
I have always loved ibadan simply for how easy it is ( except for the Micra hydra ).
I have friends that live a few minutes from the blast and extended fam that has gone to the hospital for stitches due to impact within the blast radius.
